Thanksgiving Without Borders

The Thanksgiving holiday is a special occasion which Americans traditionally celebrate with both family and friends. The campuses are usually closed and most domestic students go home for the holiday. For international students and visiting scholars, this can potentially be a lonely time. This initiative consist in recruiting American hosts who are willing to share their Thanksgiving meal and tradition with internationals on Thanksgiving Day (November 26). The host will invite one or several international students to their family's Thanksgiving table In the past, this initiative has been a memorable experience for many of these internationals as they experienced American culture and learned about why and how Americans celebrate this special holiday. For most host families, this was a unique cross-cultural experience. This year, we will again offer international students the opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving with American families.
