Share Thanksgiving across cultures! | Host or join a local Thanksgiving dinner.
The Thanksgiving holiday is a special occasion that Americans traditionally celebrate with both family and friends. The campuses are usually closed during this time and most domestic students go home for the holiday while many international students and scholars remain on campus, which can make this holiday feel lonely.
To foster cross-cultural exchange during this season, we invite American families to open their homes and share their Thanksgiving meal and tradition with international students and scholars on Thanksgiving Day ( Thursday, November 27, 2025 ). Hosts may invite one or more international students to their home, offering them a warm and memorable experience.
For international students and scholars, this is a unique opportunity to experience an American holiday and connect more with the local community in Madison.
